      Mary Oakes Smith combines an earlier career at the World Bank in industry, energy and telecommunications with that of her partner/spouse, retired from a career as an attorney in international trade.  They make use of contacts worldwide, including China and Latin America, in the energy and industry sectors to develop trading opportunities and to participate in trades.  Mary Oakes Smith, also, consults on information technology and its applications for education and health, providing policy, strategy and implementation guidelines on applications of new communications technologies for distance learning and telemedicine in developing countries.
    
      Harrell Smith consults on international trade matters and has founded (with Mary Oakes Smith) an international trading company. He practiced law in Washington DC for 40 years specializing most recently in the law of international trade. His legal experience and contacts and Mary Oakes Smith’s experience and worldwide contacts from work at the World Bank have been combined in SMITHSMITH TRADING LLC.
